LETTERPRESS PRINTING, which has an exquisite handcrafted feel. Letterpress dates back to the 1400’s and Johann Gutenberg’s invention of movable type; for centuries letterpress was the only printing method used for reproduction. Each piece is hand-printed, one at a time, on a vintage press using an inked and raised (relief) plate that makes an impression on the paper, resulting in a gorgeously textured print. STAMP's specialty is to create modern-looking designs for printing by letterpress, for stationery that looks and feels timelessly sophisticated and stylishly fresh. DIGITAL FLAT PRINTING, which is a simple ink-to-paper process. This can be a more affordable option for your stationery needs, or a smart way to create certain complementary pieces for your stationery suite. It also can allow for the personalization of specific pieces for individual recipients. For instance, a wedding stationery suite might include letterpress-printed invitations, complemented by digitally printed place cards for the wedding breakfast. Digital flat printing is also the best way to print when including a photograph in a design. For some projects, vegetable oil-based inks are available.
STAMP are happy to provide advice on combinations of colours from the INK PALETTE. There are almost endless possibilities! Please note that the colours in your proof may vary slightly between your computer/printer and the actual result, depending on the individual calibration of your computer/printer. If a particular colour absolutely must be matched in your ink, please send a physical colour swatch (or PANTONE number) so that it can be matched.
Every piece of stationery is accompanied by a lovely diamond-flap envelope in a colour that perfectly matches or provides an interesting pop of contrasting but complementary colour. Lined envelopes are lined by hand. Beautiful papers are used, rather than tissue, for an extra-crisp look and feel.
